Review Casio Exilim EX-H10

Casio EXH10CASIO released the Exilim EX-H10 on June 11, 2009. A ground breaking model as far as the category goes, this camera boasts of a stylish slim body, a 24mm wide (35 mm equivalent) lens with 10X optical zoom and a great battery life of 1000 images from its rechargeable cell. A pretty good camera to have around, in other words!

Casio has worked hard to come up with the Exilim Engine version 4, and this is what empowers the camera suitably – to give higher than before image quality while consuming less than before power. The CPU is an enhancement over previous models, capable of helping the camera deliver better image quality (less grain as well) and extending the battery life. This power packed camera is a 12.1 MP model with a high performance lens that extends well into the wide and tele ranges.

We just cant get over the lens on the EX-H10. Casio is a company that has been known for innovations in the past, and who else could put all of a 10X lens onto such a small package? Add to that a three inch LCD, image stabilization electronics using the CCD shift technology and other powerful features, and it really makes you respect the slim less-than-an-inch casing, even more so. This model can easily fit into your pocket, and the wide optical range allows the photographer to be ready for any travel scenario, from the interiors of a hotel room to gigantic structures that one may want to photograph.

Enhanced Dynamic Photo function
Casio was the first company to use the Dynamic Photo Function, which, as we know makes composite images making use of the in-house high speed processing. The Exilim EX H-10 does even more by allowing you to take out a subject moving at high speed, and put it into another image with the same background! You could then save this as a movie file. Also, the camera gives you creative animations that you can add to your video. Imagine an array of hearts on a video of your sweetheart on holiday? We got you thinking there, didn’t we?

Superb Battery Life

Casio has not only worked on the operational features to extend battery life, they have also designed a whole new battery for the Exilim EX H-10. Charge the battery once, and you get as many as a thousand images before you need to plug the battery in to recharge. Imagine a holiday of 10 days, shooting about a 100 images a week – you need charge your camera only when you return from vacation! If you are thinking of LCD viewing, the battery can give you up to eleven hours of continuous LCD use...

The Landscape Mode
yes, earlier Casio models did have the landscape mode as well, but not quite the same. This model allows you to shoot clear images on a foggy day, and also allows you to selectively control the saturation on only the key areas of a landscape, thanks to the image analyzing capabilities of the EX H-10.

This sleek and modern camera sells for around 300 USD approximately (price varies with geographic region).
