Hello Readers! We are proud to announce the launch of this site, and hope to start a long standing association with you, the reader. Photography is a fascinating hobby to some, a means of income to some, a handy memory-maker to some and an art to some, among many other sides to this beautiful art or science (yes it definitely IS both an art and a realm of science). Being die-hard photographers ourselves, we decided to put this site together for a number of reasons. The articles you will read in the coming months will include tutorials on photo techniques for the advanced hobbyist or professional, beginners articles for those just picking up their first camera, and a camera directory for those wanting to invest in a new model. In other words, this site will NOT be a beginner’s tutorial, neither will it be a pros-only stop; it will have a little for every mature reader, be it a beginner or a seasoned vet. Most importantly, we would love to hear from you on what YOU would like information about. In this aspect we promise to serve as a catalyst between you, and the kind of photographs you dream to make.
Photography has more than stood the test of time as far as going to prove itself is concerned. It is a weathered asset to the print media, which is now in a transition phase into the digital media.
Photography has faithfully and conveniently offered the photographer of the day, the digital photo option, much in tune with the way things are going on all fronts as far as the publishing industry goes. It has evolved from its modest beginnings of bulky field camera and glass plate negatives to sleek modern electronic versions of the camera obscura. However, some aspects of the camera remain unchanged and we will speak more of those in a later article.
Photography has originated from the world of art, and the basic composition criteria used to judge a good (or bad for that matter) image remain common across a range of visual media, including painting, graphic design, and of course – photography. We will touch upon the composition aspects of photography regularly. Light – Nothing visual can happen without the presence of light, and we will take great care to ensure that you the reader, find an informative source on lighting, on free-photos. Lighting is not always as complex as some may imagine – You could make a great image with only a single hand-held torch light! More on that in the coming articles...So, we’ll talk to you about the latest cameras, we’ll talk to you about composition and lighting...and we will also speak of the most important aspect of your photo-making kit – your mind. A camera is only as good as the mind of the photographer who holds it! This fact is so often overlooked when we speak of cameras with a gazillion mega pixels, features and fancy price tags.
