We are looking for striking images of the Mississippi River and surrounding wetlands that show what an awesome resource it is and its relationship with people and nature. These images may show wildlife, Mississippi River landscapes, weather or people enjoying the River on trails, boats or river banks. Ideal photographs will convey a sense of the Mississippi River as a national treasure, cultural icon and source of community pride.
Divisions:
Professional Photographer
Amateur Photographer
Three finalist images from each of the two divisions will be selected based on how well the photos meet the intent of the theme, originality, technical excellence, composition, overall impact and artistic merit.
Prizes:

This competition provides photographers around the world with unrivaled exposure, support and recognition. Film, digital and photo-based work are all considered.
Awards:
Five photographers will be selected. Each will be awarded:
A $500 honorarium.
Participation in the 2010 Hot Shot Exhibition at Jen Bekman Gallery.
The opportunity to release an edition on 20×200.
One of these five will receive the Grand Prize:
A $5,000 honorarium to support a personal project.
A solo exhibition at Jen Bekman Gallery.
Representation from Jen Bekman Gallery for two years, commencing with his/her selection.
